The RATTANAVAN family comes from Guangdong Puning. After having spent many years in Thailand and in Laos, the eldest brother of the family, Bou RATTANAVAN, decided to move to France, following the start of instability in Indochina.  

It was in 1976 when Bou along with one of his younger brothers, Bounmy founded the company, Tang Freres, witch specialized in the wholesale distribution of Asian foods.

In 1981, the RATTAVANANS took the first step to monopolize the supply of Asian food in France by launching the first modern Asian supermarket in Paris. “Tang Department Store”.

In 1988, Tang Freres recorded a total company turnover of 270 millions francs and became of one the big French companies. Since then, the annual growth rate of the group has been 30%.

In 1990, the company’s turnover reached 600 millions francs along with the establishment 6 new supermarkets. In many other European countries as well as in France, Tang Freres stood out as one of the major pillars of the Asian food industry. 1/2
